FEATUREDWHAT'S ON

Fundraisers For Nailed

As you may have seen on our Facebook page, two different fundraisers have been arranged to support Nailed’s crowdfunder, which aims to raise money to take us towards a full time staffed self-sustaining future.  Our crowdfunder is still way off from its target, which we need to reach to get extra funding from Natwest bank’s scheme to support enterprises run by women.  We have had some incredible donations and support from organisers of other groups.  The crowdfunder ends at 3pm on 15th October.

Nailed has not arranged these fundraisers; this is yet another example of the wonderful way Belper works and we are very grateful for the much needed support.  We will be in attendance at both events though, and we’d love it if you could come along too.  Come to one, come to both, they both promise to be amazing nights.  Both fundraisers ask you to donate to the crowdfunder at the event.

The first, arranged by Mike Jones, is on Saturday 12th October (the day after tomorrow) at 8pm at The Queen’s Head on Chesterfield Road.

The event promises, “An evening of fantastic local music, in aid of Belper Nailed community news channel. Entry is free, but donations are welcomed. Featuring Cage of Crows, Spindrift, Leo Swarvett and Jake Kingfisher.”

A Facebook event page can be found HERE

The headliner is Cage of Crows:

The second event is being run by Vegan Revelation at No.28, on Monday 14th October at 6.30pm

The line-up includes musicians and poets: Rob Stamper, The Ferretts, Sonia Burns, Shear Glass, Leo Swarvett, Sue and Will MacFarlane, Daron Carey and Leise, and Spindrift.

VEGAN REVELATION SAYS:
SAVE Belper’s local community news!
“Nailed is an independent community news site for the people of Belper. It aims to provide news, entertainment, thought-provoking discussion and information for residents of Belper and surrounding areas.”
Support Nailed by coming to our event on Monday 14th October! All proceeds to ‘Nailed’.

We support the team at Nailed for their dedication to:
– Honesty and objectivity, in times where we struggle to trust our media, the lack of ‘agenda’ is refreshing and important.

– Reflecting local, public opinion from on the street research to social media, making our efforts in this realm count.

– Actively seeking to ‘sing the unsung’ in their vast scope of subjects reflecting this community.

Support them by adding to their crowd funder which finishes on 15th October 2019  or by coming to our gig on the 14th October 2019!

Local, seasonal hot pot from us at Vegan Revelation and Crusty bread from The Loaf in Crich will be served at 7.30pm. Our seasonal crumble at 8.30pm.”

Here at Nailed we are all very excited about such fantastic support and incredible events.  Come along and support us, and support the people, performers, and venues who have gone out of their way to keep us going.  Belper is amazing!

NB: This article previously stated that Pride in Belper donated.  Although the donation is labelled as Pride in Belper on the crowdfunder site, this was a personal donation by a Pride in Belper organiser and they would like to make it clear that they support Nailed, but have not used money donated to them by Belper residents in that support.
