This Saturday sees the July date for Transition Belper’s Green Exchange, where you can recycle Tetrapacks, find out about Transition’s projects, and visit the Repair Cafe.
There’ll be bike repairs, a sewing team and more, plus a Youth and Climate Change talk.
The aim of the Repair Café is to reduce the amount of items heading for landfill by fixing things and making them last longer, instead of throwing them in the bin.
Running alongside the Repair Café is the Green Exchange – an informal space to have a cuppa, meet with other green-minded folk from the community, and ‘exchange’ a whole range of things from ideas, to produce and everything in between. It’s also an opportunity to meet the members of Transition Belper and learn about our projects and how you might get involved.
Tetra pak recycling is strictly only during the cafe times – so if you don’t see the black box to the left of the front steps PLEASE don’t leave your tetrapaks as they may not get re-cycled.
