Belper Town Wind Band Celebrate 20 Years

Belper Town Wind Band are celebrating 20 Years of entertaining the public with their music.

The band, which was formed in 1999, still has some of its original members playing in it today. The ages of its 25 members range from 18 years to 70+.

Belper Town Wind Band started their programme of summer concerts by playing to the visitors at Crich Tramway Village on Sunday of the May Day Bank Holiday weekend.

Denise Redfern from BTWB said: “Although the weather was on the cold side for a ‘summer’ concert, a wide range of music, from ‘Rockin Bach’ to the Game of Thrones and Queen, was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience in the year that they are celebrating 20 years of playing.”

If you play a Brass or Woodwind instrument – why not join them?

They would welcome any new players, especially Brass, to join their friendly band at rehearsals on Tuesday evenings at the Zion Methodist Church, Openwoodgate 7.30 to 9.30pm.

Their next concert will see them playing in their hometown of Belper, for ‘Larks in the Park’ run by the Town Council in the Memorial Gardens on the 2nd June, 2pm til 4pm.
