Reminder: Green Belt & Local Plan Response Deadline – Thursday 2nd

The Local Plan, which details land allocated for building development, is still open to public consultation until 4:30pm on Thursday 2nd May.

The Local Plan contains all of the sites proposed for inclusion.  You can object to these inclusions.

Amber Valley Borough Council (AVBC) have a consultation form which you can fill in.
You can view all documents and complete a consultation form to object or comment on changes here on the AVBC website. (Please read the guidelines for responding to ensure your opinion is counted.)

If this is too much for you,  you can email the Planning Team at ldf@ambervalley.gov.uk
There is no time to write in with a postal reaction, as the option to respond closes on Thursday.

An independent inspector has been appointed by the Secretary of State to examine the Local Plan Submission.  All responses to the council will be sent to the inspector.

As Protect Belper’s actions in defence of Bullsmoor showed, Belper residents can make a difference to these decisions.

If you are unsure of what you could say, Protect Belper have produced a publicly available document giving guidance for objecting, which you can download here: Guidance for Objecting

This advice includes what is helpful to say, and what will considered by the inspector.  It even identifies, through expertise gained during their experience with protecting Bullmoor, which passages need objecting to in order to save the Green Belt.

If you care about this issue, don’t leave it to others to fight.  Help to defend it yourself.
