Four Men Arrested Over ‘Machete’ Incident In Belper

Derbyshire Police have arrested four people in connection with the King Street assault in Belper in early December.

The police were called at 10.45pm on Friday December 2 to a report of an altercation on King Street outside the Green House pub. Two men aged 27, from Jacksdale and 24, from the Belper area, sustained serious injuries. A spokesperson from Derbyshire Police said at the time: “Two men were injured with what was thought to be a bladed weapon and were taken to hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.”

On the 23rd of December it was then confirmed by Derbyshire Police that two men from Eastwood, aged 27 and 32, had been arrested in connection with the assault. They were placed on bail.

Three men aged 32, 30 and 27, from Eastwood and a 23-year-old man from Nottingham, have all been arrested on suspicion of the attempted murder of the 27-year-old man. They have been questioned and released them on police bail whilst enquiries continue.

They are still trying to trace anyone who witnessed what happened or who saw a silver Audi A3 and a silver Ford Focus together, either driving in Belper or on one of the car parks at the top of the town possibly on Shortlands.
