We Are The Best High Street In England!

Today Laura Armstrong, Hilary Surga, Rebekah Wright and Lindsey Myers sped off by train to the Intercontinental Hotel in Edinburgh to attend the award ceremony for Great British High Street.

Belper were contenders for the Champion Award, having won the Rising Star Award in a previous year.

The Love Belper team organised this year’s entry, and were excited to go find out the results.

We won!

There were country awards for England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland and a GB award.  Belper won the award for Best High Street in England, but Treorchy in Wales won the overall award.

Love Belper superstar Laura Armstrong was heralded as England’s High Street Hero for her work to create Love Belper and link up all the local business, improving the experience for all shoppers.

Lindsey Myers told us there were “big screams and tears here in Edinburgh.”

Great British High Street Awards said, “This winning high street has an innovative Town Centre Partnership that focuses on engaging community and supporting independent retailers via social media and their website”

We already knew it, but now everyone knows that Belper is just the THE BEST!
