Young people across the world have been striking each Friday for months, to draw attention to the environmental crisis facing our planet.
They have asked the adults of the world to join them on Friday 20th September.
An ad hoc group of Belper residents including some Labour Town Councillors, Local Climate Emergency activists and others who care about our planet have met to organise a time in the Belper Memorial Gardens when we will stand up for our planet, and support the children and young people across the world.
If you are walking out of work on Friday, meet in the Memorial Gardens. The support event will include new original local music, the Extinction Rebellion choir, banner making, protest, the Mayor’s speech, 2 youth speakers, and an open mic for other speakers.
WHERE: Memorial Gardens, King Street, Belper
WHEN: Friday 20th September 2019
TIME: 12.30 pm to 1.30pm
Nailed will not be striking, because it has significantly less impact if it isn’t reported. See you there!
