Thank you for this roundup of results Clare. Your coverage of the elections has been excellent and much appreciated.
The fact that we now have 7 women on Belper Town Council is brilliant …………. just one more to go for true balance.
I would say true balance would not have been going from 100% 16 Conservative town councillors to 100% 16 Labour town councillors.
Many in Belper felt unrepresented by the last town council and this change will leave a similar number again feeling that a one party council in no way reflects the diversity of views and opinions in Belper.
