Join a Torchlit Newt Survey with Derbyshire Wildlife Trust

Join Derbyshire Wildlife Trust to learn about the newts that live at the Trust’s Avenue Washlands nature reserve, at Wingerworth.

There will be an evening session to carry out a torch-lit newt survey to set bottle traps in a number of reserve ponds alongside certified DWT staff; followed by a morning-after session to collect the survey traps and see what has been found.

The first Newtastic session to set the traps will take place on Tuesday 9th April from 7pm – 9pm and the second to collect the results will be on Wednesday 10th April from 9.30am – 11.30 am.

This will be a free-of-charge informal training event, but please book yourself in to both sessions by calling the Trust on 01773 881188 if you would like to take part. Please note that this is a weather dependent event (it needs to be dry but not too cold).
