Billie Holiday Night -The Queens Head Pub October 5th

Like many of our greatest artists,Billie Holiday’s capacity for self destruct caught up with her at a tragically early age. And yet nearly sixty years later, her star shines brighter than ever.

This celebration night explores and interprets Billie’s work to gain new understanding into what made her truly great as she seamlessly blended pop and jazz.

A stellar line up of our finest local musicians including Tony Stark, Helen Gayle, Molly Mercury, Charlotte Burrows, Ian Hogan, Matt Taylor and Sarah Newby will give convincing and sometimes surprising renderings of her greatest work.

Blues fans, look out for Brooks Williams and Sunjay in November while jazz fans are bound to be pleased by Soul Deep and Hitiro. Stepling will blend folk roots with new routes in a joyous explosion of dance and music on October 26th.
