Saturday Morning Flood Update

Travel:

Train – all trains are cancelled this morning
Road – the A6 is still marked as closed in both directions & Bridge Foot is also still marked closed.

Edit – closures checked and confirmed again at 7.15
Edit 2 – multiple members of the public report Bridge Foot as open.

These closures mean the road cannot be used by cars or buses.

Bus update: no buses are running along the A6. The 6x is diverting along the A38.

These things can change quickly. Check your route.

Flood Warnings:

Contrary to televised news, Belper and Ambergate have the highest warnings. All “danger to life” Red 1 warnings have been removed. These applied to Ambergate and Rowsley yesterday.

Red 4 Flooded – action required:
Belper, Ambergate, the bottom of Duffield, Rowsley, Calver, Allestree, Darley Abbey, Darley Bridge, Derby

Amber 3 Risk of Flooding – be aware:
Milford, most of Duffield, Cromford, Matlock Bath, Matlock, Darley Dale, Bakewell

It would seem that the contamination from the flooding of the sewage plant has not been factored into the risk for Milford. It is not advised to walk or cycle through Milford flooding.

There is advice that things will get worse before they get better.
