The second reg 14 public consultation on the Neighbourhood Plan has begun. It lasts until 26th November.
Belper Town Council states, “We have now completed our reports and evidence to submit our draft Neighbourhood Plan for the 6 week public consultation.”
Many organisations and community groups will be contacted directly asking them to complete the questionnaire.
The full draft document of the Neighbourhood Plan, additional reports, relevant papers, and the questionnaire, can be found on the Belper Town Council website at: https://www.belpertowncouncil.gov.uk/belper-neighbourhood-plan1.html
Hard copies of the draft Document and the questionnaire are available at Belper Library and the Town Council office (please phone ahead: 01773 822116).
The Neighbourhood Plan Working Group said, “The detailed introduction explains what has changed as a result of the first consultation. The policies referring to sustainability, renewable energy , carbon savings and reducing the impact of climate change have all been strengthened.
What has not changed is the focus on developing Brownfield rather than Greenfield sites in the Parish.
We would encourage everyone with an interest to complete the questionnaire so that when the consultation is finished we can move to the next stage towards a final referendum.”
There are 25 policies in the Neighbourhood Plan on which to comment. Belper Town Council say, “We don’t apologise for that, we gathered the public views and co-ordinated them with the policy requirements knowing Belper is a complicated, beautiful place, which is why we have tried to get it right for now and the future.”
