WHAT'S ON

‘We Shall Overcome’ Benefit At The Queens Head, October 8th

Winter is just around the corner and with it the season when poverty cuts deepest. For a growing number of families it is the time when the end of every month brings the choice of food bank or loan shark.

In fact this is Belper’s weekend of We Shall Overcome with Saturday’s entertainment at The Queens preceded by a Friday night show at the Unitarian Chapel. Both feature an excellent array of talent and both will make significant contributions to where help is most needed.

Saturday brings  on Chesterfield’s finest in the form of Silk Road, local poet , novelist and performer Sophie Sparham and Carol Hodges who incidentally is also a part of Steve Ignorant’s Slice of Life who return on November 12th.

Come along, make a contribution and above all be entertained.

Starts at 8pm. Donations of food and money both welcome.
