BBC 2016 Young Musician Of The Year To Play Arts Festival

Cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason who recently won the BBC Young Musician of the Year award will be playing tomorrow night (20th May) as part of the Kanneh-Mason Family In Concert In Belper.

The stunning performances of Sheku Kanneh-Mason, a comprehensive school student from Nottingham, saw off fierce competition to win the award after being selected by a panel of experts including BBC Proms director David Pickard and composer Dobrinka Tabakova.

 

Sheku is a member of a hugely talented family that took “Britain’s Got Talent” by storm in 2015 and you can see the Kanneh-Mason family in concert at St. peter’s church, Chesterfield road, Belper on Friday 20 may at 7:30pm

“This is a great opportunity to hear some of the best musicians in the UK,” said Belper Arts Festival Chair, George Gunby.

“Everyone connected with the Festival is very excited at the result. Sheku is an amazing talent. The entire family are quite exceptional. The timing is just wonderful and I’d encourage everyone to come along. It’s going to be a special night.”

The concert is being held at St. Peter’s Church, Chesterfield Road, Belper on Friday 20th May at 7:30pm
