Marsh Pastoral
Geese wing-flap
their young along,
mosquitos cloud
busy over puddles
on the rutted track,
an incidental composition,
the place
an orchestration of water,
the goslings no more
than buff grass or
a streak of silt
on the rippled
olive lake.
