Local Elections: Make Sure You Are Registered To Vote
This year the Amber Valley Borough Council elections will be held on Thursday 3rd May. Make sure that you are registered to vote.
Elections will be held in 15 wards. The wards up for election are:
- Alfreton
- Belper East
- Belper South
- Codnor & Waingroves
- Duffield
- Heanor East
- Heanor & Loscoe
- Heanor West
- Ironville & Riddings
- Kilburn, Denby & Holbrook
- Langley Mill & Aldercar
- Ripley
- Shipley Park, Horsley & Horsley Woodhouse
- Somercotes
- Swanwick
Register to Vote:
The quickest and easiest way to register to vote is online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
- New registrations must reach AVBC by Tuesday 17 April 2018.
- New postal applications must reach AVBC before 5pm on Wednesday 18 April 2018.
- New proxy applications must reach AVBC before 5pm on Wednesday 25 April 2018.
Candidates Briefing:
If you want to stand in the election, Amber Valley Borough Council will be holding a “Briefing for Potential Candidates and their Election Agents” on Tuesday 27 March in the Training Room at 6.30pm. Access is via the Glass Tunnel, Old Town Hall. Please ring 01773 841634 to reserve a place.
