A Nailed Noël Message

Dear readers,

I want to take a quick minute to wish you all a Merry Christmas and to say a big thank you.

We’ve gone from naught to Nailed in a short space of time and it wouldn’t have been possible without you. A community newspaper only works with the support of the community and all the comments, clicks, emails and calls mean a great deal to us. Clearly, you all have excellent taste!

2016 has been a – how can I put this – tumultuous year on the world stage, but locally it has been heart-warming to see the town come together on many occasions to show their kindness and support for various causes. Belper never ceases to amaze me with how much is going on and it is a credit to the hardworking people in the town for making all these events come together.

Personally, I want to thank all the people behind the scenes that make Nailed work: Clare Washbrook, David George, Tony Webster, Chris Copeland and Emma Clinton. I also want to thank all out guest contributors who take time out of their busy schedules to write their unique take on all things Belper. Lastly, a special thanks to Belper’s Mango Hill Creative for hosting our lovely site.

Flattery over with. All this smooth-talking is just a distraction from me saying that the site will be going quiet now until the new year. I’m taking a well-earned break, but will keep an eye on things should any emergencies arise. Likewise, the inbox and social media pages will be monitored intermittently.

Have an amazing holiday, stay safe and maybe I will see you in town for ‘quiet’ festive drink.

See you in 2017 when Nailed will be even bigger and better!
