Green Exchange & Repair Cafe – February

This Saturday sees the February date for Transition Belper’s Green Exchange, where you can recycle Tetrapacks, swap books, find out about Transition’s projects, and visit the Repair Cafe.

This repair cafe will include Zoe who can repair your jewellery, a team of seamstresses and crafters, fixers of electrical items (including PAT testers to check safety), and Lucy, a brand new fixer of soft furnishings and upholstery.

This week also has advice for people who have got in a mess with knitting and crochet projects, who can also advise you on how to get started.

Jeremy Stewart from Jeremy Stewart PC repairs will also be there to help you with your computer needs.

There is no tool sharpener this week, so please do not bring tools.

  • Are there any bored, practical, mechanical minds out there needing a distraction from virus contemplation ?

HAND CRANKED GARDEN WASTE SHREDDER wants an inventor.

    Possible components:
Old push along hand lawn mower (eg the blades that will shred when turned)
    Bicycle crank wheel and chain.
    Feeder funnel
    Collection box.

Lots of brambles want shredding and they could be turned into compost if shredded
