This year Belper Woollen Woods’ Christmas yarnbombing took the form of an advent calendar. Every day, one new tree was decorated by groups and members of the community. Nailed started it off with Tree No. 1, which included a sack full of scarves and hats for those in need to take.
A huge amount of time and work goes into these trees, many being created by one or two people. Everyone involved hopes that Belper enjoyed their work on this year’s Christmas yarn graffiti!
Here is the full advent tree calendar. The trees will remain decorated until 5th January 2020.
Huge thanks go to Anne Clark for organising the event. Anne was involved in creating the St. Peter’s Church tree.
The hats and scarves from Tree 1 have all gone now. If any readers have hats, scarves, or gloves they no longer want, please consider donating them to those cold and outside this Christmas. Just stick them in Nailed’s sack outside Wilko’s.
Merry Christmas, Jolly Yule, Warm Midwinter, Happy Hanukkah from all at Nailed!
A great idea and beautifully done by all the groups involved. A novel way to brighten up a dull and rainy December.
