Belper Councillor Topping Votes in “Beard of Autumn”
Last month Belper Town Councillor and Deputy Leader of Amber Valley Borough Council, Ben Bellamy, was named “Beard of Labour Conference” by the Beard Liberation Front, a group which focuses on celebrating beards. Notably, Ben beat previous winner, Jeremy Corbyn, to this hirsute honour.
Now Ben has been nominated in the Beard Liberation Front’s “Beard of Autumn” competition.
The Beard Liberation Front run 4 seasonal contests for best beard, which lead up to Beard of the Year in December, which Ben has been nominated for before.
In their press release, The Beard Liberation Front claimed that actor George Clooney was “heading a diverse list of contenders for the coveted Beard of Autumn Award.” However, the polls showed that Ben Bellamy had 100% of the vote at that point, and every other nominee had 0% of the vote. George Clooney has had a few votes since then but Ben Bellamy is still leading the poll with 63.64% of the vote.
