Derbyshire NHS Trust – Open Meeting Date

Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust has announced its annual members’ meeting.

This meeting is open to everyone.  Any member of the public can attend.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday 12th September from 12.30pm at The Post Mill Centre, South Normanton, DE55 7AH.

This year’s meeting intends to focus on “NHS joined-up care and wider system working involving Derbyshire’s health and social care partners”, over the past 12 months.

The presentation that will be part of this meeting appears to be focused on selling how well they have done, not examining the question of both successes and failures, in front of a public audience.  Those in attendance will need to have paid attention to cases which contradict this PR.   The NHS Trust states that, “It will showcase excellent examples of multi-disciplinary working across organisational boundaries, highlighting how the experiences and outcomes for patients have been improved during 2018/19.”  Local news for other parts of Derbyshire have published stories about the failures of joined up care.

The meeting will also cover specific services provided by Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust, and its financial performance during 2018/19. Those attending should be recall that the Trust lost a large amount of central government funding earlier this year, and refused to give any explanation.  Our article on this can be found HERE.

Derbyshire NHS Trust included the following in their communication with Nailed,

Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust cares for patients across a wide range of services, delivered from multiple sites including 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres across Derbyshire, with nearly 1.5 million patient contacts each year.

The Trust employs approximately 4,300 staff, making it one of the largest providers of specialist community health services in the country, serving a patient population of 1.1 million.

Registration for the annual members’ meeting will start at 12:30pm with the event starting at 12:45pm.

Prem Singh, chairman of Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust, said: “This annual members’ meeting is also an opportunity to thank our staff, partners, governors, volunteers and service users for their contributions to our healthcare community and for their continual focus on putting patients at the heart of our care.”
