WHAT'S ON

Josh’s Walk For Blue Box Belper

Local lad Joshua Smith (22) is taking on a 100-mile challenge walking around the Peak District to raise funds for new Blue Box Community Centre. He started the walk on Saturday 10th August and aims to complete the distance over 6 days.

Josh says: ‘I will be doing this with friends, and it will involve some camping along the way, as we make our journey around the National Park. I’m walking to raise money for the charity Blue Box Belper who are raising funds to build a new Community Centre on the Parks Estate in Belper.
I’m passionate about supporting this project having spent part of my life living in the estate. I see this as a great project for the community, as the new Blue Box building will be a place for social groups and a space for people to go.

If you are able to sponsor me and help me reach my target of £1000 you can do so here:

Blue Box Belper aims to help the residents of the Parks Estate in Belper improve the quality of their own lives through providing and supporting a range of local activities including groups for older residents, youth club sessions, sports sessions, a craft group and regular community events. The group are also working towards building a new Blue Box Community Facility, which will become a hub for the local community. http://www.blueboxbelper.co.uk/
