WHAT'S ON

Co-op Fundraiser for Accessible Belper

The central Co-op on Strutt Street have offered to hold a fundraiser for Accessible Belper.

The fundraising event will take place on Saturday 24th August from 10am til 4pm.

So what will there be?

Theevent will include a car boot sale, a raffle, a tombola and a card stall.

Members of Belper Town Council are touted to present and there will be an opportunity for you to make suggestion on how to make Belper even more accessible.

Siobhan Fennell, Chair of Accessible Belper suggested that this could help with Belper’s bid to become the Champion High Street in Great British High Street again, “Belper is in the final of the national High Street award and we have to demonstrate how much more we are doing since we won the award in 2014. ”

Be there to raise funds and awareness.

Siobhan said, “Don’t forget it’s not just about ramps. It’s about awareness which leads to different attitudes and will create understanding. How are people going to understand the difficulties with accessibility around the town if no-one ever talks about it or if they are invisible?”
