FEATUREDWHAT'S ON

Ambergate Carnival

Ambergate Carnival is coming in July.  This annual event is taking place on 13th July this year.

There are three parts to it.  There is a pre-carnival pub quiz, on Wednesday 1oth July.  This will take place at The Hurt Arms, on Derby Road.  The quiz starts at 8pm and ends at 11pm.

The carnival itself is on 13th July, and happens in the recreation ground next to the Hurt Arms.  There will be carnival parades, Dancing Diggers, a magician, re-enactments , Bangra dancing, music, games, stalls, food and much more.  A procession will take place from the Hurt Arms to the carnival ground at 1.30pm.

Entry: £1 adults – children free
Parking is very limited in this small village, and it can be dangerous if too many cars are trying to enter, or to park where they shouldn’t, so the organisers are strongly encouraging visitors to use public transport.  The Littles Travel 143 bus to Ambergate takes 9 minutes, and leaves from Stop B outside Wilkos/Iceland at the following times: 9:09, 10:09, 12:09, 14:09, 15:09.  The full timetable, including return times can be found HERE.

And lastly, in the evening, from 5.50pm, there will be a pie and peas supper, and an 80s themed after party.
The after party costs £10 for adults, £7 for children, and £30 for a family ticket (2+2).
