AVBC Local Plan Protest: Reminder – Tomorrow

We are reminding residents that there is a protest planned outside Amber Valley Borough Council HQ in Ripley Market Place tomorrow, Wednesday 22nd May 2019.

On Wednesday the new Labour administration will offically take control of the council and after appointing roles for the new councillors, will vote on whether to scrap the the Local Plan which threatens Amber Valley Green Belt.

Although the Labour proposal seems to set to pass, and for the plan to be scrapped, many campaigners wish to make it clear that their objections to the Local Plan and the deletion of Green Belt are not going away, and they want action.

The various hyperlocal groups fighting against development in Amber Valley are united in their opposition.  Amber Valley’s Conservative MP, Nigel Mills has also now backed the scrapping of the Local Plan by Labour.

The protest will take place before the first full council meeting of the new Amber Valley Borough Council.
The protest starts at 6.30pm
The meeting starts at 7pm.

Save Far Laund Green Belt invited all residents with the request to, “Come along, bring banners, flags, chants!”

WHERE: Market Place, Ripley
WHEN: Wednesday 22nd May
TIME: 6:30pm
