Top Things To Do In Derby During Half Term

There’s plenty for families to look forward to in Derby this February half term, from Atlantis Splash Run to Family Track Cycling.

Make a splash at Queen’s Leisure Centre this half term with plenty of great sessions to choose from! Bring the family along for a Family Splash session, where families can enjoy the pool through a fun and easy-going session with floats and pool toys. For those looking to get a little more active, try the Atlantis Splash Run. This amazing inflatable stretches the length of the Gala pool with giant obstacles for you to climb and scramble over, with thrill seeking slides. The event is for everyone 5+ years, for just £6.

Try something new this half term at Derby Arena at a Family Track Cycling session. The whole family, aged 9 years and older, can try out track cycling with no experience on Monday from 12 to 1pm.

For those looking to keep their child active and occupied throughout the day, why not try a half term multi-sport session at Moorways Stadium? Jam packed with fun and fitness, these sessions are the perfect way to keep your child active and learning new skills. The Multi-Sport camp will be running from Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm every day. Pay just £12 per day, or £50 for the whole week. Find out more at here.

For other ways to keep kids active during half-term Springwood Leisure Centre has a full programme of fun activities. On Monday at 3pm kids can get active by dancing to their favourite songs at Disco Fever, for just £3 per person. Those who want to get a bit more competitive can play a game of Dodgeball on Wednesday at 1pm.

Any children looking for something a bit different to do this half-term will love Springwood’s Ninja Warrior style circuit session. On Friday children will have the chance to complete the fun and challenging obstacle course, trying time trials on their own and as part of a team. It’ll cost just £5 per child for parents to give their kids the chance to be mini ninjas. The younger ones can enjoy a Bouncy Castle and Soft Playsession on Thursday, for ages 0 to 6 years.

For ages reception to year six, adults can give their children a fantastic opportunity to grow and try new sports, such as football, cricket and rounders with Derby County Community Trust’s Multi-Sports activity camp at Derby Arena. From Tuesday to Thursday running from 9am to 3:30pm every day, children can take part in fun and educational activities. From just £13 per day, or £35 for all 3 days, in advance.

On Saturday 23 February keep the kids entertained with Comedy Club 4 Kids! at The Old Bell Hotel on Sadler Gate, at 2pm. Comedy Club 4 Kids! will have the best stand-ups and sketch acts from the international circuit doing their thing for an audience of children and their families… just without the rude bits! Tickets are available for £9 and can be purchased here.

There’s plenty of fun to be had in Derby Parks this February half term. As ever, the Mundy Play Centre at Markeaton Park will have plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy. The Mundy Play Centre’s pay and play activities will be reopening for the half term, giving families the chance to test their crazy golf skills, have fun on the bouncy castles or take out a canoe on the lake!
