Poem: Birdwatch Hour

Marking the end of the Big Garden Birdwatch run by the RSPB from 26th-28th January 2019, which asked members of the public to record numbers of birds in their gardens and public spaces.

 

Birdwatch Hour

Not a tweeter

not a squarker

not a live worm

stalker

not a flapper

or a dapper

finely turned out

napper

but two pink and

squeaking tits,

thick black

eyebrows,

tails like sticks.

That’s it.
