WHAT'S ON

Luna Cycle B, Spindrift and Saskia to Perform at The Queen’s Head Jan 19th

Richard Batson, Julian Woodcock are Luna Cycle B, the artists formerly known as Moon Bullet.
From their inception in 2010,the various line-ups have led the way with their unique ska, punk, prog fusion and now with a new line-up and more original material they head a list of the finest local talent to ring in the new year on Jan 19th. A triple bill so turn up early as you won’t want to miss Saskia and Spindrift. Spindrift’s fusion of world music and crafted songwriting need no introduction and neither probably does Saskia as the most exciting young voice on the scene.

Following  that, Jan 25th sees Sophie Sparham bringing her Bruce Springsteen show to town and last summer’s gig at The Hairy Dog was probably the fun night of the year.

If you came to the Billie Holiday night in October, you won’t want to miss Helen Gayle on the 26th January when her astounding jazz vocals return accompanied on this occasion by Matt Ratcliffe on keyboards.

On February 9th Kingfisher Blue, SPG and Chris Butler return for this year’s Rock for the Homeless benefit. A night of enormous fun with a serious purpose.

February 16th sees Scottish fusion duo Zetor in the Kailyard making a rare visit south of Hadrian’s Wall. Early booking advised as they already have a fan base in the area.

A peaceful and eclectic New Year from the venue that prides itself on being different.
