Traffic: Roadworks in Area


Location:A609 Spencer Road
Reason: Serious repair to side of house due to traffic collision
Work begins: 27th September
Duration: 1 month – predicted to end on 27th October
Conditions: Some carriageway incursion.
Times of greatest disruption: no times given
Authority: Private builders
Advice:Delays possible.

Location: Field Lane
Reason: Water supply maintenance
Works begins: 6th October
Duration: until 10th October
Conditions: Traffic control – give and take
Times of greatest disruption: all hours
Authority: Derbyshire County Council
Advice: Common sense, give way


Location: Junction of A61 King Street and B600 High Street/Church Street
Reason: Upgrading of traffic lights to modern signals
Work begins:  Sunday 7th October 2018
Duration: approximately 3 weeks
Conditions: Traffic will be single file. Temporary traffic lights will replace normal signals for the duration.
Times of greatest disruption: 9am-3pm every day of the week, including weekends.

A council spokesperson said:

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused. This is essential work to replace the current lights which are coming to the end of their working life and we will endeavour to carry out the work as quickly as possible.”

Duration: until 9th October
Conditions: 2 way temporary signals

There are also numerous heavy roadworks within Derby which will continue until mid-November, severely slowing traffic at peak hours.
