Derby LIVE Seeking Local Acts For Christmas Lights Switch-On

Derby LIVE are inviting local acts, community groups, dance groups and performers to apply to take part in this year’s Christmas Lights Switch-On parade.

This year’s free Christmas Lights Switch-On, always enjoyed by local families and friends, will take place onSaturday 17 November. The stage show will take place in the Market Place and will begin from 3.30pm, with the lights being switched on at 6pm.

As in previous years, there will be a festive parade travelling down from The Spot from 4.30pm, through the City Centre arriving in the Market Place around 5pm. The event will be British Sign Language Interpreted by Sarah Gatford.

Councillor Alan Grimadell, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Culture and Tourism, said: “We are looking forward to organising the celebrations at this year’s Christmas lights switch-on event. There is a wealth of talent in Derby and we want groups to come forward to make this our most memorable year yet.”
