Have Your Say On Future Of World Heritage Site

A series of drop-in community events are being held to discuss the future of the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site.

Derbyshire County Council want to discuss how well people know the World Heritage Site, if they know how it is managed and the future challenges it faces. They are also exploring how people can get more get involved with the project.

The Council said: “Come and find out more about the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site (DVMWHS) and their communities, and how you can feed in to plans for them in the coming five years.”

Local residents, and those with an interest in the World Heritage Site, are invited to attend one of three events being held across the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site with the aim of capturing their thoughts and ideas.

The three events around the Valley are all drop-in and will run from 2.30pm to 7pm:

  • Thursday 6th September at Cromford Community Centre,  7-9 Market Place, Cromford, Matlock DE4 3RE
  • Thursday 13th September at Strutts Centre, Derby Road, Belper, DE56 1UU
  • Monday 17th September at St Matthew’s Church Hall, Darley Abbey Drive, Darley Abbey, Derby, DE22 1EF

There is no need to book in advance.
