Derby Resignalling: Services From Belper

The Derby Resignalling programme is a £200 million project to improve journeys to and through Derby Railway station. This investment will provide a new platform, new track and new signalling. However, while the works are being undertaken there will be major disruption for rail passengers.

The website aims to gives passengers the information they need during this period of travel disruption, which will last until the project is completed in October 2018.

Monday 30th July to Friday 24th August:

East Midlands Trains services will run between Matlock and Derby, calling at all stations. Late evening they will run a rail replacement service. For Belper, the pick-up and drop-off point for the replacement coach services for the Derby and Matlock line will be outside the Lion Hotel, Bridge Street.

East Midlands Trains services will start and terminate at Derby and not run between Derby and Nottingham in either direction, or continue to Newark Castle.

A replacement bus and coach service will be provided between Derby and Nottingham.

Passengers wishing to travel northbound to Chesterfield and Sheffield will need to travel by replacement bus to Chesterfield. Train services are then available between Chesterfield and Sheffield.

Saturday 25th August to Sunday 7th October:

No train services between Matlock and Derby.  An enhanced replacement bus and coach service will be provided.

Passengers wishing to travel northbound to Chesterfield and Sheffield will need to travel by replacement bus to Chesterfield. Train services are then available between Chesterfield and Sheffield.
