Belper Goes Green Leads Way With Improved Access For All

In a Belper first, groups in the Derbyshire town have worked together to ensure that all residents and visitors can enjoy the Belper Goes Green, whatever their physical needs.

This year Accessible Belper has been supported by Belper Town Council, Belper and Duffield Rotary Club, Belper Gardening Club and Vital Valley to provide a Mobiloo at the Festival on the 2nd and 3rd of June at Belper Rugby Ground.

With an electric hoist and charging table as well as a toilet and water-basin, the Mobiloo enables people with even the most complex requirements to get out and about to enjoy the same opportunities as everyone else.

At least a quarter of a million disabled people in the UK require specialist facilities to go to the toilet or be changed. This often means the only suitable place where their basic needs can be met is their own home.

Visitors to Belper Goes Green will be able to spend a full day at the festival and be able to visit the shops and attractions in the town which won the Winner of Winners category in the original Great British High Street competition of 2014, safe in the knowledge that a Changing Places Mobile Toilet will be easily accessible.

More details about the festival can be found here.
