Green Exchange Features Vegan Blogger And Christmas Decorations Work Tables
Christmas preparations start early at Transition Belper’s November Green Exchange with Richard Bett, Anne Clark, Kim Kerry, Sue MacFarlane and Jo Kirk, all leading workshops to help visitors make festive decorations and gift tags.
November’s event also features Rachel Evans, Great Vegan Bake Off 2017 Finalist, in the capacity of Guest Baker. Rachel is providing, at cost, various biscuits and bars to sell at the Café.
Rachel, who lives in Derby, is a Psychology PhD Student and recently featured on BBC Radio Derby and in the Derby Telegraph. She recently won Best Vegan Blog 2017 for her blog: Healthy and Psyched.
Rachel’s visit is especially timely, as November is Vegan Month. This month, Nailed will be running the kitchen to raise funds for Belper’s local community news outlet, and will also be preparing some additional vegan fare.
In addition there are the usual stalls featuring garden produce, book swaps and our energy advice surgery. The group are also giving people the opportunity to book a thermal image survey for their house in an effort to reduce heat loss and save money during the winter months.

To compliment this event there is also Compassionate Derby on the same day being held in St Peter’s Church on St Peter’s St. It starts at 10.30.
Making paper decorations: please bring any colour supplements from magazines that you have to make recycled Christmas decorations. Also used (and washed) crisp packets which can be made into decorative lanterns.
