Belper Eco-Festival To Return For Sixth Year

The sixth Belper Goes Green eco-festival returns on Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd of June 2018 at the Rugby Club, Strutts Playing Field, Belper.

Belper Goes Green, organised by Transition Belper, is an eco-festival that aims to share simpler, low carbon and environmentally friendly ways of doing things in a relaxed and uplifting way that showcases the best the community has to offer.

Over the weekend there will be 2 stages of diverse live entertainment, a CAMRA Beer Festival with large selection of real ales, hot and cold food (including plenty of delicious veggie options), toys and activities to keep the little ones happy and many crafts and community art projects to get involved with.

In addition to this there will be energy and low carbon travel advice, craft and recycling stalls, a whole range of campaign groups, charities and for those seeking to relax and find peace a large health and wellbeing area.

Organiser Mark Creed said: “Belper Goes Green is a free, inclusive event for the whole family that offers simple solutions to living a more environmentally conscious lifestyle.”

As a green festival they aim to be environmentally responsible with extensive recycling efforts, information boards, renewable energy powered stages, reusable recycled glasses and a solar power recharge point.

Admission is FREE and the event opens on Friday evening on 1st June for the beer festival in the clubhouse and a full programme of entertainment in the main marquee.

On Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd stalls will be open from 11.00 am – 5.00 pm whilst the entertainment and beer festival continue until later on in the evening.

Transition Belper can only do this because Transition Belper volunteers, Rugby Club volunteers, entertainers and workshop and activity leaders giving up their time freely. If you want to get involved this year then email them at
