Milford Collection for Grenfell Tower Victims
By now everyone will have heard about the terrible fire that engulfed the entirety of Grenfell Tower in Kensington, London last night.
Approximately 600 people were in Grenfell Tower when the fire, allegedly caused by a faulty fridge, spread.
Casualties have so far been confirmed as 12 dead, 18 in critical care, 78 in various hospitals and an unknown number of missing people, including children.
Those displaced from their homes are in shelters that have been set up in public buildings around the Notting Hill area. They have nothing. Most had to evacuate the building in their pyjamas and they have lost everything that they own.
Londoners are rushing to get them supplies and comforts. Due to a personal connection to one of the shelters, St. John’s Church, one of the parents at Milford Pre-School is arranging an urgent collection of needed items, which will be delivered to St. John’s on Friday.
This one day collection takes place tomorrow, Thursday, and the contact at the shelter has said that there is specific need for the following items:
baby food (jars, cereals etc)
other baby care products
clothes for all ages
If you have anything which you would like to donate please drop it at Milford Pre-School tomorrow. The pre-school is part of Milford Primary School. You need to ring the Pre-School doorbell and someone will meet you.
