Award Winning Documentary ‘Demain’ To Screen In May

An award winning humanitarian documentary Demain (Tommorrow) is to be shown on the 21st of May at Number 28, Market Place Belper.

Already viewed by over 1.5 million people in France alone, and winner of Best Documentary at the Cesar Awards (the French Oscars), “Tomorrow” has been hugely impactful. The Transition Network have secured its community-led distribution across the UK, with Rob Hopkins, Transition founder, featuring in the film.

Produced by activist and writer Cyril Dion and actress / director Mélanie Laurent, it tells the story of their search for solutions to the crisis humanity faces.

Transition Belper will be showing the film in conjunction with the Go Green Café.

The Café will open from 4pm for a cuppa, a piece of cake and a chat, then the film will screen at 6pm. There will be an opportunity for discussion and idea-sharing afterwards with the chance to find out more about local community projects and how to get involved.

“’Tomorrow’ is a hugely positive, affirming and inspirational film, exploring creative solutions in the fields of food, energy, transport, economics and education. It visits permaculture farms, urban agriculture projects, community-owned renewable projects, local currencies, creative schools and ambitious recycling projects. It has been a huge boost to community-led projects, and is currently on release in 30 other countries, regularly receiving standing ovations, and leading to the formation of many new community projects. The film is the perfect antidote to the current sense of global despondency…and it also has a great soundtrack!”
