Town Prepares For Great British Spring Clean

This Saturday, March 4th, at 10am the Town Council will be joining the rest of the country in Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean.

Following on from the successful “Clean for the Queen” last year and the Community Litter pick in 2015, the Town Council is taking part in Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean.

The Great British Spring Clean is described as a “campaign with one simple ambition. To bring together people from across the country to clear up the litter that blights our towns, villages, countryside and coastline.”

“Through March 2017, we want to inspire 500,000 people to get outdoors, get active and help clear up the rubbish that lies around us.”

Councillors and staff at the Town Council, together with Belper and Duffield Rotary Club and other local community groups, will meet at the Triangle in Milford, on Belper Market Place (Central Ward), Whitemoor Rec (East Ward), Thornhill Avenue (South Ward) and The Scotches Recreation Ground (North Ward).

Residents are welcome to come along and help in the spring clean and the event will begin at 10 am. Litter picking equipment will be provided.

Please contact Belper Town Council on 01773 822116 or admin@belpertowncouncil.gov.uk to nominate an area for a spring clean.
