Following the recently announced huge increase in NPower energy prices and the threat that others may follow, customers of the ‘Big Six’ energy companies are being urged to find out how much they can save by switching to smaller and clean energy suppliers.
At its second Transition Café taking place at No 28, Market Place, Belper from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm on Saturday 25th February members of the Transition Belper energy team will be on hand to demonstrate the switching process and to offer all sorts of energy saving tips. Local residents are asked to bring their annual bills or statements for a more accurate assessment of savings.
Also at the February café will be representatives from Belper’s Community online magazine, Nailed as well as from the Neighbourhood Plan Group who will be seeking opinions on their latest ideas.
The Transition Café is a new initiative by Transition Belper that gives residents the opportunity to enjoy some soup or cake with a tea or coffee whilst finding out a little bit more about Transition’s groups and projects in the Belper area. Future themes for the café – on the 4th Saturday of each month – include a seedlings swap, bike maintenance advice, clothes swap, repair café, surplus garden produce swap, jams and pickles, Belper Apple Day and a Christmas Decoration making workshop.
Whilst we find our feet with this new venture we are seeking volunteers to help with the café serving and kitchen duties. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to volunteer or for more details.
