Vacancy: Volunteer Recruitment Worker

£7.40 per hour 6 hours per day for 2 days a week for 40 weeks.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to help us strengthen our team of dedicated volunteers. You will be working for the ‘Friends of the Cromford Canal’ ensuring the historical narrow boat ‘Birdswood’ and Leawood Pumphouse attracts volunteers in sufficient numbers and with appropriate skills to enable the business to remain viable, adapt and expand into new areas.

You will liaise with team members and managers to identify current and projected staffing requirements identifying risks to the business and operations. You will plan to plug these gaps, lighten the workload of key staff and build stronger teams by attracting new volunteers and retaining existing volunteers.

You will engage partner organisations and manage mutually beneficial relationships to ensure they understand the strategic aims of the organisations you represent. You will develop the use of university intern programmes, college work placements, return to work schemes, etc.

You will attract potential volunteers by creating, developing and maintaining recruitment campaigns and representing the organisations at events promoting the benefits of volunteer work for both the volunteer and the organisations.
