Belper Tearoom “Buy a Brick” Campaign Builds on Strong Foundations

With progress finally moving forward on the Belper Tea Rooms, the Belper Community Enterprise group are asking for people to get involved with their ‘Buy A Brick’ campaign.

The “Buy A Brick” campaign has been started to give local residents an opportunity to make sure the River Gardens Tearooms reopen.

The Belper Community Enterprise CIC have successfully negotiated a partnership arrangement with the Borough Council and have a business plan in place, volunteers have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to develop a new design which is functional, sustainable and can be provided to budget estimates of £400,000.00.

The design has in principle approval of the Borough Council, Historic England and the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Team, but is yet to be taken through the full planning system which will be later this year.

With this in mind, the group are offering people the opportunity to really get involved and to own part of the Tearooms through their ‘Buy a brick” campaign. You can purchase a ‘brick’ for just £25 and thanks to your donation, help to make sure that the Tearooms project happens.

What do you get in return?

A virtual ‘brick’ with your name on will appear on this website, to be replaced by a permanent entry on the supporter wall once the Tearooms open.

You will receive a certificate naming you as a ‘supporter of the Belper Tearooms’ and a personal invitation to attend the grand opening event.

How can I donate and ‘buy a brick’?

You can purchase a brick by following this link and clicking to Donate or by downloading & completing the ‘Buy a brick’  form and sending a cheque to Belper Community Enterprise.

A great idea, as the people of Belper and visitors to the area, will truly benefit from it
I posted a message about in Belper and Proud a while ago, for some folk £25 might seem a bit steep in our cash strapped climate, there are several ways to get round it, a suggestion or two………
Perhaps families could club together to but one . A wedding Anniversary or Wedding Gift, A big Birthday gift…the list is endless
