Fleet Arts To Open Summer Singer-Songwriting School

Do you want to learn how to write songs?

Fleet Arts Singer-Songwriter Summer School 2016 is going to show you how. The course is aimed at young people, aged between 11 & 18yrs, live in Belper (including Milford, Openwoodgate, Bargate & Holbrook) & sing and play an instrument.

It will be taking place on August 22nd, 23rd & 24th at Fleet Arts, The Fleet, Belper. On the 22nd & 23rd from 10am to 3.30pm & 24th from 1.30pm to 8.30pm with a gig from 7pm onwards. The cost is £20 per person for the 3 days.

Loz Shaw (Music Development worker at Fleet Arts) says: “The idea is to increase composition/songwriting and performance skills, and to develop the young musician’s repertoire whilst composing with brass instrumentalists as a source of inspiration. The project will end with a performance at Fleet Arts on Wednesday 24th August at 7pm which will be organised by the young people themselves.”
