Police Appeal After An Assault In Belper

Police are appealing for information after an alleged assault in Belper.

The incident happened on Thursday, May 26, at around 10.25pm by the side of the White Swan on the Market Place.

A 35 year-old man was knocked to the ground and hit and kicked in his head and body by two men, and suffered cuts and bruising.

The two men, who are described as being of a stocky build and wearing dark clothing with their faces covered, are alleged to have come from the direction of St. Peter’s Church.

They headed back in the same direction following the incident.
