Amber Fest – Community Showcase Day

This year’s Amber Fest, organised by Amber Valley Borough Council, will provide the ideal opportunity for residents to discover more about the place where you live and how the Council and organisations are working to improve the Borough and make it an even better place to live, work and play.

From green spaces and award-winning parks, to healthy activities and town trails, Amber Fest will be the perfect place to start your trail of discovery.

The event includes ‘Love Your Local Market’ which will feature a wide range of traditional stalls promoting their quality wares and offering special deals and activities, together with an opportunity to view Derbyshire specialities and business such as our very own Derbyshire Tartan and other fledgling businesses.

There will also be the chance to learn how to make your home energy efficient, how your recycling can make a difference, and discover how the neighbourhood community wardens work hard to make our streets better places.

Joining Amber Valley Borough Council will bethe Amber Community Responders and Groundwork who will be on hand to explain how their valuable work helps to save lives in the local communities and how their environmental care improves the local nature reserves.

Amber Fest also features musical entertainment, and admission is free.

‘Love Your Local Market’ continues throughout the month of May with traditional outdoor markets in Ripley and Heanor on Fridays and Saturdays throughout the month, and Belper Farmers Market on the 8th May. Alfreton Indoor Market opens Tues, Thurs, Friday and Saturday.
