Belper Play Areas Get An Update

Play areas across Belper have been improved, just in time for summer. The updates have been delivered by Amber Valley Borough Council.

More than £90,000 has been invested to improve three play areas in Belper.  Whitehouse Rise has had a complete makeover providing new play equipment and seating. The Scotches has been extended to provide a trim trail and Whitemoor Recreation Ground has benefitted from an outdoor gym, table tennis and a fixed tennis net.

Amber Valley Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Environment, Councillor David Wilson said: “This investment is providing free-of-charge fun activities for all age ranges. The Council is committed to developing our parks and open spaces, and this is a great way of improving people’s health at the same time.”

Bringing tennis back to Whitemoor looks likely to be a popular move. Players do not need to book, just turn up with your racket or paddle and ball and it’s game, set and match!
