Gardening Tips: Crocosmia String

Hallo gardeners. Have you tidied up the old stems and leaves of flowering perennials yet? If not, here’s something you can do with your Crocosmia leaves & stems if you have them. They are the tall (2ft) plants with orange flowers which flower in late summer/early autumn.

Inspired by a Derwentwise course in natural cordage I came home and made 18ft of string from my crocosmia leaves.

Good luck, have fun and don’t work for too long without a break or you’ll get a numb thumb and finger!
