Call For Witnesses After Burglars Break Into Belper Home

A woman and her son were at home in Belper when two men broke into the house.

At around 10pm on Wednesday, March 14, two men forced open the front door of a house in Applewood Close while the woman and her adult son were upstairs.

Fearful, they remained upstairs while the two intruders searched the downstairs rooms. They did not steal anything and there have been no other similar burglaries in the town.

A witness reported seeing three men running away from the house wearing hats and with their faces covered. They looked to be in their late teens or early 20s.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call DC Dan Saunby on 101, quoting reference 18000118179.

Alternatively, send him a message online by visiting the Derbyshire Constabulary Contact Us section of their website.

You can also call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
