Belper Town Wind Band Brighten Up The Festive Season

Belper Town Wind Band has enjoyed a busy programme of Christmas events this year.

At the turning on of the lights in the Town Centre the band  entertained the crowds waiting to see Santa Claus in his cosy grotto on King Street.

Out of town the band visited St Helen’s Church in Darley Dale for a fundraiser in aid of a donkey sanctuary based in Cromford.

Playing pieces of music from The Disney film “Frozen” summed up Belper’s Christmas Farmer’s Market. Thank you to all the stallholders and shoppers for inspiring the band members to play on.

The gig at the Hop Inn provided an opportunity to enter into the Christmas spirit with the band room’s neighbours in Openwoodgate. The players are grateful for the Hop Inn’s friendship during 2017.

An engagement at Matlock Golf Club concluded this year’s programme.

Belper Town Wind Band starts up again on Tuesday January 9 to rehearse their Summer Programme. The band has members across the age spectrum, playing a range of wind instruments, but this year finds a shortage of bass players.
