Belper Sports Become Latest Sister Club Members

Women’s football in Belper is on the up with a new partnership with Sheffield FC Ladies.

The Dronfield based club has confirmed the addition of Belper Sports Ladies FC as its newest sister club ahead of the big 2017 Spring Series kick off.

Belper Sports Ladies Football Club is a FA Chartered Standard Club which currently runs four junior girls teams at U10s, U11s, U12 and U14s level, with all its teams playing in the Derbyshire County Girls Junior League, a charter standard league.

By joining the Sister Club programme, Belper Sports players will be able to access free tickets to all Sheffield FC Ladies home games during the 2017 spring series, get a visit from a Sheffield FC Ladies’ player, receive a coaching session at their club, take part in a Sister Club tournament, be a mascot or flag bearer at a Sheffield FC Ladies home game, and many more exclusive benefits.

Chairman of BSLFC, Carl Harrison, said: “Everyone at Belper Sports FC Ladies is really excited to be a sister club to such a well-established and respected team as Sheffield FC Ladies.  The programme is a tremendous idea, giving girls inspiration and providing positive role models from the women’s game.

“We are very much looking forward to attending and enjoying the matches, making new friends, contacts, and building a strong future for ours and other local clubs.”

Programme officer, Leanne de Silva, said: “I’m really pleased to have Belper Sports Ladies join our Sister Club scheme. It’s a great opportunity, and I am looking forward to working with them during the spring series.”
