DerwentWISE Community Grants Now Open For Applications

DerwentWISE is offering a number of small grants for a wide range of innovative community projects that help people to look after, learn about, access and celebrate the landscape of the Lower Derwent Valley in an enjoyable and rewarding way.

If you are an artist, a community group, a landowner, or represent a creative group working with your local community, DerwentWISE would welcome your application. There are two types of grant available and the closing date for applications is the 2nd of February 2017.

Community Engagement Grant Scheme

This scheme is designed to provide small grants of up to £1,000 to support communities to connect with the Lower Derwent Valley landscape in different ways. It focuses on supporting new groups to set up, or existing groups to run initiatives – in the past this has included walks, talks, training and workshops.

Community Access and Interpretation Grant Scheme

This scheme provides funding of between £1,000 and £5,000. Landowners and community groups can apply for this fund to improve access and interpretation to natural, social and industrial heritage across the DerwentWISE area.

DerwentWise is a Heritage Lottery Funded partnership programme working to conserve, enhance and restore the distinctive landscape, character and heritage of the Lower Derwent Valley – from Matlock Bath to Derby City.
